Talk about a discovery you’ve made since coming to CCA and the Bay Area
Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - 1:42pm

Diversity Diversity Diversity!

There is something for EVERYBODY here. If you like to dance, there are so many classes in the area to choose from, whether you are an amateur or experienced. If you are into rock-n-roll, pop, international music or other, there are plenty of concerts for you to attend.

One thing that I love about the Bay Area is that people are so respectful of other’s uniqueness. There are so many places that I cannot say the same about. I’m happy to be here because I’ve grown so much as a person and a designer as a result.

Take care and have a Great day!

Question: What has been a challenge for you since arriving at school
Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - 1:40pm

My approach to the grad school experience.

So, I came here after working for about 4 years in a place where “exploring new ways to solve problems” was not welcome. After a while of trying “different” approaches to problems and being shut down each one of them, I found myself in a place where I was only working to get the job done, which is basically whatever they had in mind in the first place. What could have been a creative experience became factory work.

So I quit. And here I am.

Common Questions

HEllo All!

I hope you are all well and in Great health. If not, I wish you the very best and that you get well soon.

Well, I’ve received a few emails that share many of the same questions and concerns. I’ve decided to post my response to the latest inquiry from a guy we’ll call Chris. Chris wanted to know if Grad school at CCA really cost $46, 000, if the move across the United States was worth it and how I found housing.

If you share these same questions and concerns, I really hope that my response helps you in some way.

My reply:

Hello *Chris,

2 week ink push

eat, a lot.
sleep, a little.
remember to: play.
I’ve got to stop these procrastination tendencies. because time rolls and rolls and if I don’t get my fingers on those keys the tasks roll right on past. so in an effect to get the hands to computer thoughts triggering, I’m posting this stressed filled blog.

daria martin pa play

this past weekend was spent with daria martin and her small film crew, making her latest art film. the idea is based off of a rodin sculpture, and also acts as an homage to anna halprin, a woman who is regarded as a grandmother to modern dance. we spent some time at stanford university filming the rodin sculptures there, and also in marin, at anna halprin’s studio. the focus is on two dancers as they go through a rather risky dance, mimicking the sensenstion one may feel when looking at rodin’s “minotaur” sculpture.

Here's a little test form ...
